Planning your Artistic Death: a conversation with Death Project Manager

Tuesday, February 6, 2024, 7:30PM at LACA

The Death Project Manager invites you to join a workshop providing you with tools and resources around "the end" and what that can mean for the objects and ephemera we leave behind as artists.

About Death Project Manager Similar to how death doulas offer end-of-life care, the Death Project Manager provides compassionate support in preparing for what happens after you pass with a more extended timeframe.
About the Mortality Workbook The workbook helps you navigate the intricacies of planning your life after death and coordinating logistics to care for your loved ones in your absence. The Mortality Workbook has 40+ pages to help organize your contacts, determine logistics, and reflect on the values you want observed. Both English and Spanish workbooks will be available for purchase ($25 cash/Paypal) during the event.

♾️ We will begin the evening’s conversation by playing with The Death Deck, "a lively party game about death.". Then, the Death Project Manager will speak about the importance of planning ahead and communicating with your loved ones about your needs. Artist Patricia Fernández will share information about her current exhibition at Commonwealth and Council, Box (a proposition for ten years), which includes her project Bone Ship. Fernàndez will discuss how she organizes Box’s growing archive.
