The magazine includes full reviews of each artist in 2025 Made in LA biennial, with contributions from 28 artists artists. Issue zero was launched at OCHI Gallery in Hollywood.
" Wallace is a Los Angeles als review that investigates and brings attention to underserved constituencies that consider the uncool, the untimely, and the forgotten. Wallace connects LA to its history, and to art that is being made around the world.
Wallace doesn't just react to the conversation, but participates in it.
Issue 0 was created in collaboration with artists, poets, and writers who each responded to one of the artists in this year's edition of the Hammer Museum's Made in L.A. biennial.
Future issues will be created in collaboration with artists and writers, who will contribute original work specially made for the readers of Wallace.
What do you do when something has a bad reputation? You take it for yourself. You shape it, you change it, you contort it. You make it dance.
Wallace removes the perceived barriers around what art criticism means.
Wallace pays tribute to the many Wallaces that inspire us: Wallace Berman, Wallace
Stevens, Wallace Shawn, David Foster Wallace, Wallace & Gromit, the list goes on...
Wallace is about the real value of simple awareness; awareness of what is so real and essential, so hidden in plain sight all around us, all the time, that we have to keep
reminding ourselves over and over:
"This is Wallace.'
"This is Wallace."
