Dorit Cypis is an artist, educator, and mediator based in Los Angeles, California. She was born in Tel Aviv, Israel and raised in Montreal, Quebec. Since the 1980s, she has worked in studio practice, education, conflict mediation, and community-building. Cypis is a co-founder of the North East Youth Council, which develops civic leadership projects for youth in partnership with the Northeast Los Angeles Police Department. She was also a founding member of Mediators Without Borders, the founder of Kulture Klub Collaborative in Minneapolis, and director of the Foundation for Art Resources in Los Angeles.
