L. Coats, or Luisa Coats, is an artist, musician, and director based in Los Angeles, California. She is the creator of desiredfx, a renegade rave series at secret locations in the Los Angeles area. Coats performs under the alias Hydragen, a name shared with an aquatic cyborg from the Japanese Kamen Rider series. She often DJs on Hong Kong Community Radio and co-hosts the livestream extracredit___ with DJ Ditto. Coats also produces experimental metal music as wryngwyrm and is part of the duos Glyph (with Kane Lafia) and Woodbrain (with Chet Taylor). The collection was donated by the artist.
