  Faculty at CalArts organized and filed for a union election with the support of SEIU 721. However, faculty decided to withdraw their petition and ultimately never had a union vote.

• March 5-6, 2025

  Election votes. More than 450 of the 602 full-time and part-time faculty and staff at the institute are in support of forming the union.

• Dec 3, 2025

  64 employees signed and members delivered a letter to President Ravi S. Rajan.

• March 27, 2025

  Ballot count was a majority "yes". 75% colleagues in support to establish CU-UAW as the official union.
