The Distance Plan Considers Projections and Preservation
Los Angeles Contemporary Archive and The Art Book Review invite you to Projections and Preservation a round table discussion to mark the launch of the Distance Plan Press' first publication.
Projections and Preservation will bring together academics, artists, and those involved in climate change policy to debate what role the arts might play in preventing catastrophic climate change.
Speakers include David Pettit from the National Resources Defense Council, Peggy Weil founder of HeadsUP! and Adjunct Professor at the USC Interactive Media Division, artist and writer Amy Howden-Chapman and Sociologist Dylan Taylor from the University of Auckland.
The Distance Plan is a collective of artists and writers concerned with promoting discussion of Climate Change within the arts. Their first journal includes contributions by Amy Balkin, Airini Beautrais, Bjarki Bragason, Scott Barry Ralph Chapman, Abby Cunnane, Joe Hoyt, Steve Kado, Biddy Livesey, Lousie Menzies and Michala Paludan.
