Summary
CA53776V2.gallery is an exhibition space in the cab of a 2007 Ford Ranger. Expanding on a cultural understanding of the dashboard as a place of public display, CA53776V2.gallery exhibits contemporary artistic practices that explore intimacy, touch, and craft on, in, and around the American road space. This project was initiated during the Covid-19 pandemic while the Ranger sat largely unused. California's stay-at-home order positioned the truck’s passenger cab as a glass vitrine, perpetually parked on a residential block in Santa Barbara, California.

Timeline
From March to July 2021, works from Kim Beck, E. Saffronia Downing, Madeleine Ignon, Misael Soto, and Kareem Worrell were shown on the 300 block of West Anapamu Street. Viewable daily from dawn to dusk, a single artists' work was on view at any given time. The display rotated whenever the truck moved, most frequently for street cleaning (Wednesdays on the odd side of the street, Thursdays on the even side) and occasionally for trips to the grocery store. 

Since 2007, the Ranger has been registered in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Pennsylvania again, Massachusetts again, and in California since September 2020. CA53776V2.gallery is organized by Alex Lukas.
