Description:

"Charles J. Guiteau shot President James A. Garfield with a British Bull Dog pistol in 1881.  Loplop is a recurring figure in surrealist artist Mac Ernst's work, generally acting as alter ego or shapeshifting creature.  Together in this text they act as deconstructive forces.  They reassemble, recombine in sporadic ebb and flow that form teneous connections, lucidity, and alien beauty.  Death, the step over the curb, and delirium shape their landscapes."
